Winter hits, but you can still garden!
Ever though it's cold and rainy, you don't have to stop thinking about your garden? GardenWise Magazine offers a comprehensive list of the activities you might want to consider. Here’s their list for What to do – January. But don't worry if you don't have time. We'll help out.
February 1 is the deadline for the Home Renovation Tax Credit
Under the Federal Government’s Home Renovation Tax Credit, outlined in the Harper Government’s recent Federal Budget for 2009, families are eligible to claim a 15% non-refundable tax credit for eligible expenses made in respect of eligible dwellings. The credit will apply to expenditures in excess of $1,000, but not more than $10,000, resulting in a maximum credit of $1,350 ($9,000 x 15%). This includes sod and landscaping. Find out more from the Canadian National Landscape Association. The credit does not apply after February 1, 2010.
